myJHU Portal – JHED Student Portal Login

myJHU portal is an online space where students can access different resources of Johns Hopkins University such as general services, email, and more. It is like a unified access point to myriads of web applications by Johns Hopkins along with other essential information related to the university.

What is JHED?

JHED stands for Johns Hopkins Enterprise Directory. It is an online, systematic contact information source for all the students admitted in Johns Hopkins University. It provides access to various university resources such as JHU SIS, myJHU Portal, JHU email and much more.

To access these resources, you will require a JHED Login ID or JHED ID or JHED LID. It is the Username provided to students to log into the JHED system. New students will get an email containing all the details related to their JHED ID. Johns Hopkins University requires students to use JHED IDs for authentication and allows them access to the resources and tools.

With the JHED ID, students can access their email, check/print their class schedule, register for classes, check confirmations, get grade reports, view bills and much more.

How to Achieve your JHED ID?

The very first thing you need to do is create your JHED account to get your JHED ID. Follow the below-given steps to find your JHED ID using any campus computer:

  1. Go to https://my.jh.edu
  2. In the Search Box, enter your name in Last, First format
  3. Click on the Search button
  4. Find your Full Name and click on it
  5. To the right of the ‘Login ID’ label, it will display your JHED ID or Login ID or LID
  6. If you don’t find your name in the Directory, call the HITS Help Desk at 410-516-HELP (8080) for further guidance.

Logging into JHED for the First Time

Once you get your JHED ID, you can now easily log into the JHED system by initializing your JHED account.

  1. Go to https://my.jh.edu
  2. On the top right corner of the screen, click on the ‘Log In’ option
  3. Click on the link at the bottom that says ‘First Time JHED Users Click Here
  4. You will be redirected to a page where your identity will be verified to initialize your JHED account.

On this page, you need to create your JHED account to access Hopkins resources and tools. Follow these steps:

  1. Enter your JHED ID
  2. Type the characters displayed on the Image
  3. Click on the Continue button
  4. Create your password and Confirm, as per the password policy

(Note: Check the password requirements thoroughly before setting up the password)

  1. Provide your Date of Birth
  2. Enter the last five digits of your SSN (Government ID) to verify your identity

(Note: International students will receive an email at their personal email ID that mentions their ID number to be used as JHU Government ID. If you did not receive any email from Johns Hopkins Government ID, contact IT Help Desk at (410) 516-8080)

  1. Choose 3 security questions and security answers. Click on Continue.

(Note: the security question and answer will be used to set up a new password for when you forget your password. If you provide your email ID to JHED, you can opt to receive your secret question via email. Then, you can use your security answer to proceed further in the login process.)

  1. After confirmation, your JHED password will be set. You can now Log In with your JHED ID.

Important Note: Do NOT share your JHED password with anyone. Know that your JHED password expires after 180 days and you will be notified to change it when logging into JHED.

How to Log Into myJHU Portal?

To access your myJHU portal, follow the below-given steps:

  • Go to https://my.jh.edu
  • On the top right corner of the screen, click on the ‘Login’ button
  • Enter your JHED ID to log in

How to Change the JHED Password?

If the JHED password is not expired yet, but you wish to change it for any other reason, follow the below-given steps:

  1. Log In at https://my.jh.edu
  2. After logging in, go to the myProfile button cited at the top right corner of the screen
  3. Click on the Change Password button in the Password Management box
  4. Provide your current password, and set up a new password
  5. Next, you will also be prompted to update the Security Questions and Answers.
  6. Once done, click on the Change Password and Set Security Questions button.

These steps will successfully change your JHED password.

How to Edit Your JHED Information?

  1. To edit or update your JHED information, visit http://my.jh.edu and log into your account.
  2. Click on the myProfile icon on the left under the myProfile category
  3. On the right, you will see your profile information including links to change password, change your online visibility settings and many other options.
  4. Edit your profile information in this section and click on ‘Save myProfile’ at the bottom.
